Now with added Google Hangout Goodness

Arguably one of the most popular features of Google Plus is Google Hangouts. That's why we're so pleased that  Heather Fay will be joining our panel on Friday to talk to us about her experience using Google Hangouts and Google's On Air feature:

Singer songwriter, Heather Fay, was asked by Google to test Google's "On Air" feature as a beta tester. She has been exploring using Google Hangout as a way to collaborate with musicians and broadcasting her work to the world using the On Air feature.

Heather has a B.S. from Boston University in Film Production and worked for years managing the production of feature film, DVD and Blu-ray disc production. She recently started graduate work in the interactive media graduate program at Quinnipiac University and is preparing to record her 2nd CD of original music which will be released this Fall.

Heather will be joining two great expert on online video:

Jay Miles - Author of "Conquering YouTube"

Lon Seidman - Co-Founder of Independent Media Network LLC and LocalOnlineNews.tv

We're hoping to broadcast this Breakfast using the On Air feature. We don't have final details yet, but stay tuned or follow the #smbct hashtag on Friday morning.

What is SMBCT?

For all of us social media is a new, exciting, perplexing and constantly changing medium. The goal of the Connecticut Social Media Breakfast, (#SMBCT) is to fill the void of local discussion on this emerging media and bring together the many talented individuals in this arena in Connecticut in a shared, mutually beneficial and non-competitive environment. We welcome social marketers, communications and advertising professionals, CMO’s and marketing directors and others interested in learning about and participating in this growing and changing world.

Events will be held approximately every 6 weeks and will include a mix of panel discussions/debates, presentations from local experts, guest lecturers and thought leaders, new technology presentations from selected vendors and others.  SMBCT will be hosted by the Quinnipiac University Interactive Communications Graduate Program.
